All-Together Playground at Orem City Center Park

In the heart of Orem, Utah, a playground symbolizes inclusivity, unity, and community spirit. Designed with a vision of inclusivity, the All-Together Playground is Orem’s first universally accessible playground. This means its design considers the needs of all children, including those with disabilities. However, fun for many, traditional playgrounds can pose challenges for children with mobility issues or other special needs. The All-Together Playground seeks to bridge this gap, ensuring every child can play, interact, and explore without barriers.

The playground features many play equipment designed to be fun and accessible. Wide ramps ensure children using wheelchairs can easily navigate the space. Swing sets with harnesses and high-back seats cater to children with varying physical needs. Sensory play areas with textured surfaces, musical instruments, and visual stimuli engage children with sensory sensitivities. However, the physical design is just one facet of what makes the All-Together Playground special. This project was born out of immense community collaboration and effort. Local businesses, families, and countless volunteers made this dream a reality. Fundraisers, design workshops, and community build days showcased the collective spirit of Orem’s residents. This playground, in essence, is a gift from the community to the community.

Beyond just play, the All-Together Playground fosters social interaction and understanding among children.
